Monkey Bread Recipe

27 Jan

There is nothing better then to wake up to the smell of fresh baked cinnamon in the morning.  Most people are not going to make fresh baked goods everyday, but for those special Sunday mornings, Monkey Bread is super delicious and easy to make before the rest of the family crawls out of bed.

Monkey Bread is also called “Sticky Bread”, and is a sticky, gooey pastry that can be pulled apart easily and eaten with your fingers.  If you are unfamiliar with Monkey Bread, think of it as a whole bunch of tiny cinnamon rolls baked together in a pan.  It is perfect for holiday breakfast, or for when visitors come in from out of town.

When making this dish, I like to use refrigerated buttermilk biscuits, but you can use traditional if you like.  I suggest not using butter flavored or flakey, they do not work as well in this recipe, adding too much buttery flavor or making if more difficult to pull full pieces apart.
