About The Hungry Wife
“The Hungry Wife” actually started out by my husband first calling me “Hungry Girl” before getting married. ”The Hungry Wife” came about shortly after we married. Reason being, I am truly a good food lover, and I enjoy everything about food – the cooking, baking, and other preparation before ending up on the table for all to enjoy. Good food makes people happy and apparently that’s what won over my husband long ago, so he says.
Since you are reading The Hungry Wife, I’ll assume you enjoy good food as well, and am confident you’re about to find lots of delicious recipes here that will make you smile.
I inspired to start The Hungry Wife due to the sheer number of recipes available which is good, but frustrating when deciding on one and testing it out. For example, in my kitchen I have about 15 or more recipe books, some handed down from family, while others purchased in travels about the world. In addition to cookbooks, there are countless cooking magazines, all containing recipes. Not to mention the endless cooking shows and their related recipe websites, and the other huge recipe sites that have been around for years, collecting everyone’s recipes who wishes to send one in. This makes it frustrating finding a single recipe that you want to make, or worse…remembering that single recipe you wanted to make, but not knowing where exactly you found it.
The Hungry Wife has two goals. One is to offer only the best, most delicious recipes to you, the readers, as determined by my family, friends, and picky husband. Luckily we’ve learned a lot of The Hungry Wife readers taste buds seem to align with our own. =P The second goal is more for my sanity and convenience, to have our favorite recipes in one place that we can refer back to. This collection of recipes at The Hungry Wife is truly the best foods I’ve made so far. I plan to publish a cookbook in the not so distant future, and when I do, you will be the first to know.
That said, you should sign up for The Hungry Wife newsletter. We haven’t actually used it yet, however, when we have something special to say, such as a cookbook announcement, or more contests, we’ll shoot you a message so you aren’t left out . Of course, you will not get spammed, your information is secure, and we will not share it with others.
Happy reading and cooking!

Hi Brooke-
I really like your Website and admire your well informed introductions to the recipes. Take a look at my blog where I feature information of a different genre, but I try to stay informative with self-help articles.
I’ll get back to you on the link after I hear from the media team.
Nice job!
Brooke, I came upon this website by chance, and am absolutely enthralled with all your recipes! Our tastes in food could not be more alike and the tips and shortcuts and the recipe digest you share with us is AWESOME! This is one of the best surprises to be found on the Internet yet! Thank you for sharing all this with us! Gonna make my first homemade weekend tomato sauce and pork schnitzel this weekend!!
Ivannia, I’m so happy to hear that you are enjoying my site so much. I hope that you love everything as much as I do, and if you have any questions on the recipes, don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you so very much.
Great site. Many times I go searching for ideas to bring something new to chicken and hamburger! I found you from your post on my site, My Faith Finder.
This is great! Stumbled upon it in a search for a “light” mac and cheese. Everyone is telling me to put sqash in it but I needed something more specific. Can’t wait to try this on the next chilly spring day!! Thanks this is great, definitly bookmarking this website.
Brooke,
Stumbled upon your website and I was quickly impressed. You have been bookmarked into my “favorites” list; looking forward to the future recipes!
Best,
Kristin
I’m so glad you are enjoying my site! I’ve been slowing down on my cooking, we are expecting a baby in a couple months so the new recipes may not be as frequent as they used to be. If there are any types of recipes you are interested in or looking for, let me know and I’ll see if I can find something delicious for you.
Thanks for the link – let me know if you ever want to swap guest posts. xoxo, Lisa
